We went for a walk on our property a while back and found these cool mushrooms. The first ones are pretty typical but the other one isn't. I thought it was soo cool and it was even bigger the last time I checked on it but I didn't take a pic.
I had to take a picture and post it here for my FIL. He loves this kinda stuff.

Wow, those are cool! It looks like cauliflower...weird. Please tell me you're not as nuts as my Dad and left them there. =)
Hey, I resemble that last comment! One thing for sure, it is not a "nut" mushroom, or even a "cauliflower" mushroom. If I could hold it in my hand, turn it over and look at the stem, see how it snaps, see whether it is hollow or not, check out the gills, and do a spore print, then I might begin to get an idea of what kind of mushroom it is. Maybe I'll have to make a quick run up to Washington to check it out in person. Of course, then I'd probably find out that it really IS a cauliflower, with dirt sprinkled on it artistically just to fool me. Nice try! (Seriously, there are many thousands of different types of mushrooms. I know only about three or four of those types well enough to ingest them. The rest I look at but never eat.)
Follow-up comment: "There are OLD mushroom hunters (and eaters) and there are BOLD mushroom hunters (and eaters), but there are NO old, bold mushroom hunters (and eaters)." Despite what Tutu Grandma says, I'm a pretty cautious person. I'm still here, amn't I?
